Hey, Gene!

Tomorrow is my 28th birthday! Since I can't party with my favorite rock god I'll just have to do it up as best I can! I'm sure I won't disappoint anyone!

Kisses,

Nicki Jones

BTW, I got one of my presents already... maybe you could help me break it in? It's the most gorgeous whip I've ever seen! (naughty grin)

From the previews I have seen, it looks like the adults dress-up as KISS in the Tuesday, October 26 episode of "According to Jim" (ABC, 9 PM).

Hi Gene!

Love the site - loved the tour shows this summer - I saw 5 shows and this is the BEST KISS I have ever heard and seen, PERIOD! A great Gene sighting happened on CNN this past Saturday morning. They interviewed Terri Gross and I watched in hopes of a Gene mention. Well, sure enough the interviewer finished his interview with quoting what Ms Gross had said after her interview with you. Something about her producers wanting her to fight with more of her guests or something... She said she knew it was going to be a tough interview when you said she needed to welcome you with open legs as well as open arms. I swear I heard the interviewer laugh :) It was so sweet to see her CNN interview taken up mostly by discussion of her moments with you. Seems you are her most recognized career highlight :) By the way, she said KISS is made for pre-adolescent boys....just shows she knows nothing about the band or the magic of KISS. Take Care and hope to work with ya soon.

I don't normally tell you to go and see a movie, but have just gotten back from seeing TEAM AMERICA, and I haven't laughed this hard in years. It's also politically improper, which is to say the movie doesn't have a problem going against Hollywood's almost-socialist nature. It actually names names and meters out "puppet justice."
You have to see it to believe it. And, you will laugh till you pee in your pants. I did.

Today, shooting begins on my 6 episodic television series ROCK SCHOOL. This is a television series that will mostly take place in England. They're filming at my home today and then I'll fly over to the UK where I'll be teaching 12 year olds in their schools how to form a rock band. We will show the auditions for the band, putting individuals into a group together, showing them how to rock and actually writing a song.
So far, no info on whether this will be shown in the U.S.

Proud to report the SPEAKING IN TONGUES AUDIO CD is now in stores. I went into the studio and put together a cd you can play in your car. It also includes some new material. For those of you who tuned in late, the Speaking DVD/CD was recorded during my Australian Lecture Tour about two years ago.
I have a big mouth and I'm not shy about expressing myself. I realized early on in my life, that the way I thought, the values I held dear and the decisions I made for myself, especially as regards my happiness, seemed to fly in the face of what was commonly accepted. I would find interviewers open mouthed when I would utter phrases like "I love money." They would respond with "..what do you mean by that?" I never thought twice about it. I thought everyone loved money,..but apparently a lot of people have a problem admitting it. I always wondered why.
So, in the DVD and the CD I go into some of the fantasies we have all deluded ourselves with. How about "Money is the root of all evil." Which is nonsense and we all know it. LACK of money is the root of all evil.
When was the last time a millionaire walked into a 7/11 and said "Put your hands up and give me $14.95!!!"
I also have very clear (apparently biologically sound) notions about the difference between man and woman. The male of the species, we are told, manufactures billions of sperm daily. The female of the species only makes one or two eggs PER MONTH/per cycle. The only problem females and males have with each other can be summed up with the following: The female of the species has convinced herself that all those billions of sperm are only for her.
Can't we have a few hundred million to play around with? Now I ask you. Is that too much to ask for?

Hey Gene,

Our little girl Samantha had to go to the doctor last week and was uncooperative with the doctor to stick out her tongue, then mom came to the rescue and asked her to do her Gene Simmons. To the doctors amazement, she stuck out her tongue. The doctor could not believe it and busted out laughing. Could you please wish her a Happy Second Birthday which is coming up Nov. 4th

Thanks,
The Hills

Response from Gene:

Happy Birthday!

Gene,

I just had my 30th birthday. I thought you would like to see what my friends gave me as a gift. Now you're not only in my dreams, but you're life size in my bedroom as well.

Happy Birthday to me.....

"...I rocked up to find a horde of screaming rock-crazy kids, half of which were done up in full KISS make-up! I'm talking kids between 2 and 4 years old here! They were all dressed up in their coolest rock'n'roll style gear, and were proudly saluting me with their metal fists held high! I was quite taken aback to say the least! They were all going mental!.."

Gene,

I was at the last METS game of the season this past weekend where they had numerous tributes to Todd Zeile who was retiring from major league baseball. The cool thing was that every video tribute had KISS symphony music accompanying the video footage. Thought you might like to know.

By the way, more new KISS music please!

Response from Gene:

This was recorded by an Aussie comedian during the KISS 1980 Australia Tour. You can imagine the lyric and song, I'm sure. Very funny.

Hi Gene.

I was out for a couple drinks with a close friend the other night whose name happens to be Ronald McDonald. He told me, that in the late seventies you once did a show wearing his red boots and that you never gave them back!

Is this true?

Peter

Response from Gene:

I thought I had heard it all before. But, this one takes the cake. Red shoes, you say?

October 5th -

Woke up at 2:30 am Monday morning, drove out to the Mojave desert to be a guest at an historic event. Was invited to attend the fantastic second launch of SPACESHIPONE (Spaceship One) by Bob Lorsh. This is the commercial venture that successfully went into "outer space". The first launch was a few weeks ago. This flight was the qualifier that won the crew a $10 million dollar price.
The private sector once again kicked Gov't and Nasa in the butt and showed them how to do something for $25 million dollars -- compared to the hundreds of millions/billions Nasa routinely spends on similar ventures.
But, this is an old story. In various tv and print interviews I did at the site (I was ACTUALLY on the field...very exciting) I was reminded of an astonishing fact. It has always been the American Individual -- the American Entrepreneur, not the Government who created the life we all enjoy today. Think about it.
Alexander Graham Bell and the telephone.
Edison and the light bulb (and phonograph...and hundreds of other inventions).
The Wright Bros and the first airplane.
And all of it invented right here in America.

It DOES all come down to one person. It always does. SOMEONE has a dream. And that person either keeps it to himself, or he spreads it to others --- like a virus. And, if others start believing the dream, anything is possible. Anything.
I'm living proof. If you've read my books or heard the lectures (yeah, I know. They SOUND like lectures) in America, you can do anything. You can come from another country (like myself, like Gov. Schwartzenegger, like lots of others) and scale the heights. Because America lets you go after your dreams. Like no other country in the world. Not the country I was born in. Not the country Schwartzenegger was born in.
This is a tough one to swallow for all the other countries of the world.
But look at it this way: While all the countries in the world discuss the glories of their past, America is walking on other planets.

Hello Mr. Simmons,

I've just watched the Speaking in Tongues DVD and enjoyed it very much.  It's good to be entertained and inspired.  I wanted to offer my congratulations on another job well done.  By the way, if ever you're interested in a different career path, I think you might just make and excellent therapist.... Want to switch jobs for a day? :)   Also, my friends and I wanted to thank you for your hospitality at the Nashville KISS concert this summer.  Take care and best wishes in all your endeavors.  Hope to see you again sometime!

In Appreciation,   Dr. Suzie D.

Hi Gene,

Yesterday was the TV-premiere of your cartoonshow "My Dad The Rockstar" in Holland and all the characters spoke Dutch. The voice of Rockzilla is done by Barry Hay of the Golden Earring. The tv-premiere was followed by a making off...showing clips of KISS video's and a little interview by You at Nickelodeon. Barry Hay spoke about KISS, that the band was once the support act of golden earring and that you weren't allowed to spit blood on their stage! Is this true???

Sincerely,
CAROL

Response from Gene:

Yes.

Hello, Gene.

I caught some of your time on Jim Rome today, quite by accident, but it was a pleasant surprise. Unfortunately, I had to get back to work, but then again, there's money to be made.  In case you were interested what was Rome's take on your session today (off his website)...."

Dear Gene,

It seems quite often that I turn on the TV or radio and quickly here or see something about you, and/or KISS. I call it "The KISS Sense", kind of like the Sixth Sense, only better. Anyway.......I was watching the GAC network the other night. And there you were, in the new video by Trick Pony. ("Not The Bride") It was GREAT!!!!! Very cool and funny. I see the lead singer, Heidi Newfield was wearing a KISS shirt too. How did this all come to be?

Lloyd Mudie Madison, Maine

Response from Gene:

We met at a radio convention in Vegas two years ago. We jammed together. I picked up an acoustic and they sang along. They called me to be in the video and I was happy to do it. I like Trick Pony.
