We recently visited Washington DC and while we were there we checked out The National Museum of Health and Medicine behind Walter Reed Hospital. Being KISS fans, we were wowed when we found the Venereal Disease Display. Right smack in the middle of the preventative measures was guess who??? Gene, The Man, Simmons was looking right at us next to the SYPHILIS and GONORRHEA ointments. KISS Kondoms appear to be the protection of choice of the curators of this museum. Well, guess it goes to show that you never know where the "Original G" may be found.

 I felt a curious sensation, when I worked out at Billy Blank's TAE BO this morning. The workout consists of Tae Kwan Do kicks and punches to the constant beat of music...usually rap. I found myself kicking and punching quite a bit harder to the beat of ROCK AND ROLL ALL NITE, which was played during the workout.
Oh yeah!!!
July 24th -
Went to the FETISH BALL at the Key Club in LA and had our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS camera crew in tow. Latex, rubber and stiletto heels. And, lots of it.
Ran into producer Craig Baumgarten, who I was partnered with in a movie project called Sex Drugs and Rock and Roll for Jim Carrey. It was set up at Touchstone/Disney. Unfortunately, the script never quite hit the mark and the project never came to be. Close. But no guitars.

I was putting my 4 year old, Francesca, to bed and we were discussing what it means to play make believe.
She told me she was afraid of monsters. So we discussed what "Making Believe" is.
So i told her when you are on stage, and look like a monster, your playing make believe. I then said Gene Simmons doesn't have bad dreams at night because he knows it's all make believe.
She then looked up at me and said..."Daddy, What time does Gene Simmons go to bed."
So i said lets ask him.....Gene- What time do you go to bed?

 Just got back from the COMICON Convention held in San Diego every year. By some estimates, 80,000 people attended. Most of the upcoming sci/fi/fantasysuper hero movies that are upcoming send their stars to promote at this event. And, every single comic book company, it's writers and artists also appear to sell, sign and greet the fans.
Ultimately, it's a fan gathering...unlike any fan gathering anywhere.
And, I'm one.
Comic books were my childhood companions. Through the pages of the Fantastic Four and Spiderman and Dr. Strange, I entered worlds I never dreamed were possible. Ultimately, all comic books have a 'sense of wonder'...a sort of 'what if' quality that attracted me. Then. And now.
And, unlike the other human beings on this planet, I'm proud to say I'm one of only four people I know, who actually became super heros in our own KISS Comics...Marvel, Image, Dark Horse and....well, you'll have to wait and see.
At the convention, ran into Director BRYAN (X - MEN, APT PUPIL) SINGER who was off the next day to the filming set of his next directorial effort -- SUPERMAN!!!

Just barely got through the San Diego COMICON.
Exhausted. But, happy.
Went with my camera crew for GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS. Caught all the action --- by some estimates, Comicon has 80,000 people. I saw people dressed in Star Wars outfits...super hero outfits...and, KISS outfits.
TENACIOUS D (Jack Black) put on a concert at the end of the day...
AND, as you might have guessed, lots of new toys are on the way to stores around the world.

I am writing just to let you know that the latest issue of the brazilian magazine named DVD TOTAL presents you on the cover. DVD TOTAL is monthly and is presented like a magazine plus DVD. This one is about 48 minutes of documentary (2 very known interviews with the band). It´s a great piece collector, indeed!!

Gene Simmons invades England to teach a bunch of prim and proper boarding school students how to rock in the new VH1 series, "Gene Simmons' Rock School," premiering Friday, August 19 at 11PM.* The infamous "Demon" of KISS faces a monumental task: turning a group of classical music mini-scholars into a killer rock band.
"Gene Simmons' Rock School" has Master Simmons setting up court at one of the UK's top independent boarding schools, Christ's Hospital in West Sussex, south of London. The children who attend the 450-year-old school wear Tudor uniforms, march into the lunch hall accompanied by full brass band and know nothing about rock music. So, in just six weeks Gene must transform a class of classically trained 13-year-old musicians into little rock gods.
Some kids will make the cut, and some will have their hearts broken as Gene picks a band worthy of opening for metal legends Motorhead in front of 5,000 screaming fans.

Spent the day doing press for the upcoming VH1 series, GENE SIMMONS ROCK SCHOOL at the Beverly Hilton Hotel in Los Angeles. It was a day when the Viacom company of television outlets (VH1, MTV, Nickelodeon, Nogin and others) debuted their shows.
P. DIDDY, RUSSEL SIMMONS and RUN (from Run DMC) have a show Run stars in, as do others.
DAVID SPADE chatted about being a member of the KISS ARMY and said hello to our two young Christ Hospital School kids, who were with me for the press day -- as was Deputy Ireland, the School's Head Mistress.
We have two New Television projects that are being set up.
And, there is also a NETWORK TELEVISION Project we are in the middle of assigning writers to. That means, it may be six months before a script is in shape to take to the next step. The show might take another six months to finally get on the air. Nothing's easy. If it was, everyone would be doing it.
And, another CARTOON SHOW.
And, a NEW CLOTHING VENTURE. Deal is being worked out.
And, a NEW SPORTS JOINT VENTURE, which is in the talking stages and which looks like it will get pretty serious shortly. This venture promises to be huge. And, I intend to be there when it does.
Then, headed over to the Headquarters of our new TELEVISION STATION for a meeting. Unfortunately, I can't say more about this venture just yet. But, it's all very exciting...and big!!!
And, ended the day doing Radio Promos for the upcoming ROCK STAR POKER, in which I will appear in Las Vegas. More about this a little bit later.
The day before the Poker event, I will be having my BIRTHDAY BASH in Las Vegas. And, we will be filming it for my GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS tv show.

 i was watching an epsiode of Full House on ABC Family earlier in the week, and stephanie found a rag which turned out to be one of Uncle Jesse's old t shirts with KISS on it. Jesse got mad that someone threw it in the rag pile for its 'sentimental value' because it was the first time he took a lady to a concert. Joey comes in and says, "i used to love KISS, especially the guy with the tongue." then he proceeds to stick his out, and mimmick you. his tongue looked pretty long, but i am sure its to no comparison to the Demon.

 I saw and older recording of MTV Cribs..They were showing your house. When you were in your office there was a chair, it looked like there was a T-shirt on the back of the chair and it looked like the MoneyBag logo with Simmons Records underneath it. I would be really proud of wearing a shirt like that, to the gym, shopping, to the movies. Where can I get one?? Can you send me one, I'll pay for it. I would wear it with honor and pride...Thanks

 Tonight, My wife and 3 kids supported the troops by watching Rock the Corps at the theatre. What a great show and way to show support for our brave soldiers. We loved the show and the greatest band on Earth.

 Took Miss Sophie to see BILLIE IDOL in LA. Billie played the hits...and then some. Guitarist Steve Stevens chatted with us for a few minutes and then we had to split. Apparently, a few of the people in the audience recognized the beautiful Sophie. Charming as ever, she gave the 'royal' wave back.
New Lady in Waiting!
July 1st -
 Came to Reno, Nevada to watch Miss Sophie play in the World Volleyball Tournament -- featuring 9,700 girls ...all great athletes...all playing volleyball...from around the world. The teams ranged from ages 13 (Sophie's group -- although she is yet to turn 13), up till 18 years old.
The 18 year old girls in Sophie's Volleyball group, SPORTS SHACK, won (get ready for this)...FIRST PLACE VOLLEYBALL CHAMPIONS ....IN THE WORLD. Teams from Mexico, Canada and other countries...including most major cities in America competed. Our team won. Amazing.
And, while here, I took Miss Sophie to see JUDAS PRIEST and QUEENSRYCHE, who were in town. Both groups rocked and Sophie got to hang out backstage... talked and hung out with ROB HALFORD and the guys... and had a ball.
