Fame and 'making it' is relative. There are more famous people than I and there are those that have certainly 'made it' bigger than I ever will. And likewise, I've done better than some. Point is, you CAN 'make it'. The best baker...the best shoemaker...the best 'of anything' --- in this town, in this country, in the world.
The cartoon strip has the wrong attitude, in my opinion. It's negative. There is always tomorrow and...there is always MORE.

This is my nephew Emmett. I was back in Australia recently and we went shopping. Whilst in the book store and as we were looking around I heard him scream "KISS" and took off like a race horse... to grab this book.

A recent Reuters News Agency article and foto of myself with the very lovely Shannon Tweed printed a lie. News agencies often do. The lie is that we are married. That's not true. Neither Shannon, nor I have ever been married. To anyone. Including each other.
For the record, I have been happily UNmarried for almost 22 years to the same girl. You'll be seeing and hearing all about that soon enough in the GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS program.

 Had a ball at BABEFEST in Philly. I co-hosted with WYSP's Couzin Ed. Rockin' crowd. Beautiful girls and lots of fun. Sang Chuck Berry's ROCK AND ROLL MUSIC with local band, Octane. And then, went off into the night for the afterparty, which lasted through the night.

 Was invited to attend Direc/Prod DAVID LACHAPELLE's RIZE movie from Lions Gate. Miss Tweed and I attended. This is a docu/film you must see. It chronicles the new LA street scene. Instead of gangs, street kids are "krumping" -- a new form of dancing...like you've never seen before. It will break your heart and perhaps offer hope. Go see it.
LaChappelle, I'm proud to say, art directed/shot my ASSHOLE solo album cover. He's also just directed the ELTON JOHN/Red Piano live shows in Vegas.
Go see his movie.
If I'm not mistaken, sitting two rows ahead of us was Miss Taylor Wane. And, on the way out, chatted with director JOEL (Batman Returns, Phone Booth) SCHUMACHER.
Joel was all over Miss Tweed and heaped praise on her movies. She's starred in over 30 of em. Go to your video store and ask where the Shannon Tweed movies are.

Dear Mr. Simmons,
 This is your little preacher from Tennessee again! I have recently found out that if I preach with your make-up on, a larger crowd presents itself. Moreover, I have more access to the girls in the pulpit and the married stock too. I can also throw the fear of hell at the hypocrits too and they come running back next sunday for more lustful verbage. A most interesting experiment showed to improve my attendance by 30 fold. If I spit fire while talking about the lake of fire, I recieve more money in the tithe bucket... MaMa used to milk cows into this bucket, but I told her that the spirit of Gene Simmons said to take it to the rectory and scare people with Lucifer, and they will pitch money into mama's titty bucket. I have just one question to ask of you, Mr. Simmons AkA THe Demon: If I could borrow some of your blood so that we can pass it around at service so that people could have them a little swig so as that they can know that you gave your soul for rock and roll. In New York having meetings about some NEW VENTURES we're involved in: Television, Sports, Cable and other areas. More news.
 And, was invited to stop by FOX TV to talk about the news of the day. Why they're interested in what I have to say about anything, is beyond me. But, most people know I have a big mouth and will wax poetic on almost any subject.

 Yesterday, was invited to be the Guest of Honor or the Grand Marshall, take your pick, of the Texas INDY CAR RACES. Lots of excitement. A hundred thousand people. Cameras. Girls. The works...We've been having talks with the Indy world about a few high reaching ideas and perhaps a new venture. We will see.
Meantime backstage, JIM (Passion of Christ) CAVIEZEL came by to say hello. Met the drivers and toured the 'pits' to see how a crew can make (in essence) a 'jet with no wings' fly around the track at 215 mph. Amazing.
The winner: Tommy Schechter.
On the way to New York for meetings with business types, involving a new venture.

Went shopping with my two midgets, Nick and Soph. Reason? BOTH got straight A's in school. Sophie's teacher at the teacher's conference mentioned how, especially in Math and Science, no one approached Sophie.
And, during Nick's teacher conference, his teacher actually cried when she addressed him and said that in her 30 years of teaching, she had never met anyone as gifted...especially in his writing and artwork.
Today, Sophie gets her own horse.
Nick, just wanted his own wireless microphone for his band, CHAIN REACTION.
Proud? You bet.
Yesterday was a busy day.
Meetings with LICENSING and MERCHANDISING companies re new ventures.
Meeting with a Legendary Hollywood WRITER/DIRECTOR/PRODUCER of some of our favorite movies re a new venture. When we can disclose identity, we will.
And, camera crews were here filming additional scenes for our  tv show. Air date seems to be in Early Fall.

Introduction (Terry Gross): When KISS started performing in the '70s, the band became famous for its look as well as its music. They paint their faces in bold black-and-white patterns that seem inspired by comic book superheroes and villains. They also dress outrageously, in wardrobes that include giant platform shoes, breastplates, and codpieces. The band has been the subject of comic books and movies, and has had all kinds of merchandising tie-ins. Now Gene Simmons has a best-selling memoir called KISS and Makeup. Gene Simmons is his stage name; he was born in Israel in 1949, the son of a Holocaust survivor. When he was ten, he moved with his mother to Queens, New York. There he dropped his Hebrew name and became Gene Klein.
Terry Gross: Gene Simmons, welcome to Fresh Air.
Gene Simmons: Thank you.
Terry Gross: Let's start with the makeup. Did you like being covered up on stage, did it make you feel any less vulnerable, or any less like Gene Simmons or your other names -- Gene Klein or Chaim White, which was your birth name?
Gene Simmons: Close, but no guitars. It's Chaim Witz.
Terry Gross: Oh, thanks. Okay.
Gene Simmons: You said it -- well, the name came out through gentile mouth, so it didn't quite have the flavor. It came out bland.
Terry Gross: Well it's ... it's not a gentile mouth.
Gene Simmons: Ooh! Maybe it's a discussion we can have.

 Proud to say my cartoon show, MY DAD THE ROCK STAR can now be seen on Nickelodeon seven days a week!!! And, you can catch it daily, throughout the day....as many as five showings a day. Check your local papers for times. I'll post time and date of airings when I receive the info from Nick TV.
And, MR. ROMANCE, the show I created for Oxygen has been re-upped...which means, they've ordered more episodes. Check it out.
June 4th -
Was invited to attend a small gathering for former Pres Clinton White House staffer, DICK MORRIS. We traded our points of views re politics and the general state of the world and found to our surprise, we agreed on most of them.
Also attended a gathering called SILVER SPOON, which PR firm BWR handled. The event generated interest and money for children's genetic skin disorders. And, the event gave companies a chance to show their wears and (!!!) give away lots of free stuff.
And tonight, my good looking offspring, NICK and his band, CHAIN REACTION are playing at the famous WHISKEY in Hollywood. Maybe he'll give me a backstage pass if I'm nice to him.
