March 31st -    Miss Tweed and I went to a flick. And, on the way in, we noticed it was a packed house, and the movie trailers had already begun. As we started taking our seats in the front, we noticed (more than usual), we were being stared at. Letters... New letters posted... Hi Gene! It was so great watching you live from Japan last night. We let our kids stay up late, just to get a glimpse of you. You looked so good. I hope you are enjoying your stay there, while making your movie. As I predicted, you came back. We watched the show to the end, and even though you and my "other half" picked Trace Adkins, my daughter and I were actually pulling for Piers. He really was quite funny, but it seemed like everyone took his jokes the wrong way. He knew how to bring in the dollars, that was for sure! And tactics, though they might have seemed to be a bit wrong to the general public, they went along the line of a true businessman. Nice guys finish last, again! You do however, seem to be a perfect blend of naughty and nice. I wanted to point something out to Kodak. Their goofy commerical that looked like a Trojan horse advertising ink was not only confusing to me, but it really didn't hit the mark. It's a Kodak World was a much better slogan because it embraced the idea that we all take pictures. You are right, it's a digital world. I haven't printed pictures for years, but I do have a Kodak digital frame. (Which I saw, by the way, for the first time, sitting in the background of your show, behind Shannon). Their sales picked up from all the media attention they had behind you, and your sticking to your guns. They need to send you a check. Just as you said, it was short sighted, and as soon as you quit talking about them, their sales will slow... Watch and see! Thanks for all you do, and letting us be a part of your life. Hi Gene, With my cable provider I get apx 900 stations. That's a huge network of television, and programming. Having said that, I recently read that Neilson Ratings of Gene Simmons Family Jewels season 3 had well over 2 million viewers. I think that's pretty impressive. Congratulations to the entire family!!! I knew you would be back on The Apprentice. I wouldn't miss you going up against Kodak for the world. Interesting, Kodak said their sales increased after the show, but that doesn't make for long term. I can't wait to see you, a successful man with the most EXPERIENCE, and TALENT in action. For just watching, I get another great lesson in business from the one, and only, Gene Simmons. In honor of you, I'll break out the diet Coke, and oatmeal cookies. That was a stunt we did for our show. You'll see it soon. No. I'm not bald. It's done by greasing down your hair and then a skull cap (like a swimming cap) is worn. Makeup over that. And, presto. March 21st - GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS is #1 We have just gotten word from A&E that our GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS second episode was #1 most viewed among all cable networks in the 10 pm hour among Adults 25 thru 54 years of age. March 20th -    Thank you one and all for the kind emails you've sent inquiring if I'm ok. Yes. I'm fine. One of our new GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS episodes had me on a treadmill doing a stress test. We all should do that. I did just fine. I'm on tour with my favorite band, KISS and if any of you have seen us, we do this 2 hours a night, on 8 inch platform heels and another 20 or 30 pounds of guitars and armor. Yes. I'm fine. March 18th - Kodak unveils new marketing strategy MATTHEW DANEMAN • STAFF WRITER • MARCH 18, 2008 Gene Simmons and Kodak products were the centerpiece of a Jan. 17 episode of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice. (NBC Universal, Tommy Baynard) Eastman Kodak Co., once synonymous with television ads touting “Kodak moments,” is increasingly turning to NASCAR and rock star Gene Simmons for its marketing focus. Jeff Hayzlett, chief business development officer for the Rochester area’s largest manufacturer, laid out some of Kodak’s changing marketing emphasis and message as he spoke today at a meeting of the American Marketing Association’s Rochester chapter. “We’re going to make some fundamental changes in the way we go to market and the way we advance and promote our brand,” Hayzlett said. For example, Kodak decided to drop its century-old Olympics sponsorship after this year in favor of sponsoring a NASCAR race car and the PGA Tour. “All our marketing activities should activate customers, not build brand, not build buzz,” Hayzlett said. “We’re going out where our customers are.” Kodak products were the centerpiece of a Jan. 17 episode of NBC’s The Celebrity Apprentice, and sales doubled the following week, Hayzlett said. He declined to say what getting Kodak involved in the show cost, but said that typically such product placement can run anywhere from $500,000 to $2.5 million. Hayzlett said Kodak would be back on the show for the March 27 season finale, with he and Simmons facing off over Kodak rejecting the marketing campaign the Kiss bassist had created on the January episode. My comment: I stand by what I said then. And I stand by what I say now. March 16th - ROCKS 50,000 FANS    KISS rocked 50,000 fans at the first stop of the KISS 35 ALIVE WORLD TOUR. The tour celebrates 35 years of rocking and rolling the world. The first show took place in Melbourne, Australia -- coinciding with the Melbourne Grand Prix races.    Want to read more? We had been watching the DVD collection to tide us over during the winter. After that, we watched you on Rachel Ray, which we had taped earlier in the day. You made that guy's life!! And you were so gracious to him. You are a true class act...and you looked especially hot and sexy! We finished the evening with your clip from Dr. Phil, which was spot on, as always. Phew...what a GS marathon, all in one day. Needless to say, everyone left with big smiles on their faces and GS in their hearts. Wish we could see that much of you every day!! He was kind enough to invite me to be his guest on his show, which I just finished filming. It may be on today or tomorrow.    That led to an A&E foto shoot, which I got to barely in time.    And that led into KISS rehearsals until early evening.    And that led to going with Sophie to her volleyball practice (8 pm till 10:30 pm) -- Soph, by the way, is team co-captain!!!    Now, maybe I can grab a few shuteyes and try to do all this again tomorrow. March 3rd - GENE SIMMONS ON RACHÅEL RAY SHOW    Recently did the Rachael Ray Show, which will not air, I'm told until March 11th -- (coincidentally the premier of our Season III of GENE SIMMONS FAMILY JEWELS). All I can tell you about the show is that it involves a "makeover" -- but what kind, I'm not saying. It was interesting to see just how Rachael worked. Unlike other shows, she doesn't use cue cards (cards that have words on them for the host to say -- like a script). She just says it. What you see is what happens. There were no retakes. It was real.    Everyone on the staff were terrific and I think you'll get a kick out of the subject matter (which I'm not free to talk about just yet).         March 3rd - KISS SELLS OUT 2ND HELSINKI IN 9 MINUTES!
