New Lady in Waiting!

New letters posted...

G'day Gene,

I thought you might get a laugh out of this picture that was in the Herald-Sun Newspaper here in Melbourne. I know I did.

February 21st -

Went to see CONSTANTINE/Keanu Reeves movie with the midgets and Miss Tweed. It kicked ass. You must go see it. Don't listen to the girls. This is not for them or for the faint of heart. This is a guy's movie and it rocks...wait till you meet the devil!!!

February 20th -

Today, Miss Tweed and our two midgets, Soph and Nick spent the entire day filming some television stuff, the nature of which I can't speak of just yet.
Almost done.

February 19th -

Had the pleasure of speaking with the Chairman of one of America's leading AIRLINES. We exchanged pleasantries and, if I have my way, both of us will do great things together. Wait and see.
In the next week or so, my two partners in a potential NETWORK TELEVISION SERIES, will have our second meeting with network executives to see if we can all agree on an approach. If that happens, we will announce it here first.
My BOXING VENTURE partner and I took a FUTURE BOXING CHAMPION and his lovely date to the boxing matches at STAPLES CENTRE. We were in the front and watched modern gladiators doing battle. Nice of the ring announcer to announce us to the sold out crowd first, and then in quick order, MIKE TYSON and JACK NICHOLSON.
Later, we went to a Beverly Hills restaurant and exchanged pleasantries with MIKE TYSON, and an unnamed, powerful WILLIAM MORRIS motion picture agent.

"...I just want to let you know that my screenplay for "A Day in the Life of Gene Simmons" will have a public reading as part of Sunday Night Live (Pittsburgh, PA), the city's premier play and screenplay reading forum. The reading and discussion will take place on February 20 at 7 p.m.

The story is about a day in the "suburban-guy" life Gene lives after he retires from the road--from waking up to the sounds of crickets chirping, to his day as creative director of Chaim Witz Advertising, to a relaxing evening with his family..."

Thanks,

Dear Gene,

I am happy to see that you had a great time filming in New Orleans. This is actually the female PA from the prodution crew. I learned exactly what reality TV is all about by working on this, and it was great. I never had the chance to tell you what a fan I am, and didn't show you my KISS tatoo. I have to say it was hard to stay professional when you're working with someone you've admired for so many years. I'll never forget this experience, and want to say thank you for well being you. I hope to work with you again one day.

Dear Gene,

we are 3 girls from sweden, first of all we want to thank you for all the music and movies you've been giving us over the years, and your book Kiss and Makeup was good reading!
Anyway, we went to a friends house and watch your dvd Speaking in tongues, it was fantastic, just as we thought...but...one thing is very disturbing to us.....we have noticed that it has been a while since you had your last 'visit' to sweden, and it was a big disappointment that your Speaking in tounges tour never included our beloved country.
Will we ever see you here again? It would be great if you could answer this letter & I don't think that I have to tell you how most welcome you are to Scandinavia again......... :)

/ Anna, Hanna & Eva

Response from Gene:

All good things to those who wait.

Hi Gene,

I just attended the Feb 5 B-Ball game between the Phoenix Suns and the New York Knicks and the highlight of the game was the opening montage of music OPENED with "Firestarter". My son and I thought that helped them to Win. Nice to hear all the good things you are doing

Today was very full.
Started off with a BILLY BLANKS TAE BO workout at Billy's gym. Television cameras were there to record the workout and get a few quotes from me for Billy's informercial. And, at the same time, our TELEVISION REALITY SHOW crew were there filming the event...and continued to follow me as I joined Miss Tweed and the two midgets, Nick and Soph on our daily routine.
Took a quiet side trip to visit the home of my partner in our new BOXING VENTURE -- cannot be more specific about the venture, and who's involved just yet.

Thanks for the moment...Billy Blank's

Gene,

Thanks for stepping in front of the lens today...cool capture attached. Loved the Jell-O joke too!

If ever needed, please don't hesitate.

Hi, Gene ,

just wanted to thank you for being so kind and such a class act.
your visit to my city of "New Orleans" was just fantastic!
I met you a few places along your travels here and it was always a pleasure.
You signing my pinball machine backglass at the "ENDYMION" party was a thrill and a dream come true. I know you may have started to notice my poping up at a few of the events and clubs you visited but that was due to my friends knowing how much a fan I am and informing me of your apperances. not to fear, I'm hamless, just happy to see my one of my heros up close with a smile is all I needed. so for that I thank you.
I hope you enjoyed your parade ride, the great food my city has to offer and the sites.(and the lovely ladies)
I hope all goes well with your reality show and I wish you much $ucess.
I am incloseing a couple of photos, one of you on your Float and one of me holding my pinball glass.
enjoy.....
Happy Mardi Gras!!!

Gene,

I just wanted to send you a quick message about your cartoon MY DAD THE ROCK STAR. My kids (ages 8, 7, and 5) and I watched the first episode of it tonight on Nickelodeon, and I have to say, we're hooked!  Thanks for giving us something new and awesome to look forward to watching.

Day 3 of Mardi Gras
Went to the Super Dome, which KISS had played a few times, and met up with all the other floats of the parade. Met Krewe officials of Endymion, who were very nice, and then we went off to a gathering of about 20,000 people outdoors, having a cook out and singing along to a band on stage. I joined the band for a quick song and then headed off to change outfits for the start of the parade.
They propped me up on top of my float and gave me what amounted to hundreds of pounds of jewelry to throw out to the crowds. I was expecting thousands of people...but did not expect HUNDREDS of thousands of people. They say a million people filed into the city. I believe it.
Our TELEVISION CREW followed and filmed the entire event. We had four lovelies on the float with us, who were helping throw out the jewelry to the crowds. We were on the float for over four hours. I was exhausted.
But that wasn't the end of the day. We then headed back to the Super Dome, where a "private party" for 15,000 people, all in tux and evening gowns, was being held. I joined the dais to wish everyone well and talked a few minutes with the EXTRA television crew.
Didn't hit the sack till 4 am.

I'm bushed. Now back to LA, so I can get back to work and stop goofin' off.

February 5th -

Day 2 of Mardi Gras.
Went to lunch with two beauties (for the camera) and were greeted by a local parade in our honor...very sweet.
Spent the day touring New Orleans sites and sounds.
Stopped at a roadside cafe, where there was a blues band doing Lee Dorsey's "Ya Ya", among others. I sat in and played bass with them on one of Stevie Ray Vaughn's 12 bar blues.
Then at dinner, the Endymion Krewe, who are sponsoring my float, treated us to a feast to behold. MARISA TOMEI, who will have her own float, and I chatted a bit. And then, everyone sat down to devour the goodies.
We then went to a FETISH CLUB and filmed the fun and games there. Wait 'n see.
Came back to the hotel exhausted at 2 am.
More tomorrow!!!

February 4th -

New Orleans!!! Mardi Gras!!!
Arrived yesterday and was met at the airport by our TELEVISION REALITY SHOW crew (title to be decided), as well as fans, well wishers and local press.
Limoed to the hotel with a police escort...New Orleans' finest rocks! Those Harleys make more noise than a nagging wife...just a joke, ladies. Relax.
Spent the eve walking around in the French Quarter with the camera crew in tow.
The town is nuts.
And, yes. What you heard is true. Women attending Mardi Gras, forsake all the rules of social etiquette (thankfully) and "air out their God given talents" for all to see....at a wave of a hand...from anyone!!!
It's understandable, actually.
It gets musty in there.

Many of my friends saw this in the local Free Times Paper. I found it stuck to my office door.
